BAKE SALE: The National English Honor Society will be hosting a holiday bake sale today during 5th period lunches. All cookies, brownies, cakes and other baked goods will be sold for $2.00.  CASH ONLY. All proceeds will go to a good cause.

SPEECH TEAM:  The Speech Team will be performing in their first varsity tournament tomorrow at Palatine High School. Students will be competing in Radio, Prose, Original Oratory and Informative Speaking for a chance to win awards and name recognition for Maine West. Congratulations to the Speech Team on all your hard work and good luck with your tournament tomorrow.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY:  National Honor Society will meet in the auditorium Monday morning at 7:45am. We will begin planning for the upcoming induction ceremony. Attendance is required.

SPEECH TEAM:  The Speech Team competed in the UltiMUTT Dog Show at Hersey High School this Saturday. Students performed well in a highly competitive tournament. This Saturday they will be competing in their first varsity tournament, Pirate's Booty at Palatine High School. SPEECH TEAM: The Speech Team attended the Speechapalooza Tournament hosted by Prospect High School this Saturday. The team did really well and showed a lot of spirit. Junior Elisha Joseph placed second in Informative Speaking. Congratulations Elisha on a magnificent performance, and kudos Speech Team for a wonderful showing!

SOAR:  Join SOAR after school today in room C210. All are welcome.

MAINE WEST UNPLUGGED:  Maine West Unplugged will be meeting in the library today at 3pm. Bring your acoustic instrument and come play with us.

ANIME CLUB:  Anime club will meet today after school in D113.  For more information contact Mr. Davis or Mr. Khemani.

PI SIGMA PI:  Pi Sigma Pi will meet Friday morning in the Lower Commons at 7:45. Come help us choose upcoming events, field trips, fundraisers and more.

BADMINTON:  Friday morning at 6:30 is our first Badminton open gym.  Everyone is welcome to come out and hit the birdie around.  Just show up and play.  

BOYS BASKETBALL:  For all student-athletes interested in joining Boys' Basketball this winter, there is an informational meeting after school next Tuesday in Room A-201. For any questions, please email Varsity Head Coach, Dan Paxson.

MU ALPHA THETA:  Are you a sophomore, junior or senior looking to join the Math National Honors Society? Check your eligibility and find out how to register for Mu Alpha Theta by scanning the QR codes on the fliers in your math classroom and on the bulletin boards around the school. Registrations must be completed by October 30th. New members need to register AND pay a $10 fee in the bookstore. Seniors have the opportunity to purchase an honors cord to wear during graduation for $6 in the bookstore. We are not able to accept late registrations or orders. Contact Mr. Smith with questions.

FINE ARTS MEDIA CAREER DAY:  The Fine Arts Department at Maine West will be hosting a Media Career Day open to ALL students on Saturday, October 21st, from 8:00am until 12:30pm. Students will visit WGN studios in Chicago and hear from a panel of industry professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for any Maine West student to learn about careers in the media industry. See Ms. Fisher in R209 for a permission slip.

FCCLA:  Interested in FCCLA? Come to an informational meeting Wednesday, October 25 after school in C105A. Questions? Contact Mrs. Chen, Mrs. Van Jacobs, or Ms. Zobrist.

WEST'S GOT TALENT:  The judges have spoken, the cast has been chosen and the talent is immense.  The West's Got Talent Show is well underway.  Make your plans to come and see the most anticipated show of the year.  Friday and Saturday October 27th & 28th.  Mark your calendar and tell your friends.  You won't want to miss it.

CHOIR KARAOKE PARTY:  All students are invited to attend a Karaoke party hosted by the choir program after school today in the Lower Commons. Please join us for some food, entertainment and an all around great time.
