Congratulations on an amazing show by the West Side Dance company this past weekend.  Thank you to all who came out to support our dancers.  Once again the West Side Dance Company is being recognized for excellence in student choreography.  Congratulations to Makayla Allen for her beautiful choreography of "Burn" being featured this year at the State Student Choreography Showcase on April 8th. Her piece was chosen out of over 40 pieces that auditioned. There were only 12 dances chosen for this prestigious showcase and we will once again represent Maine West at this event. Thank you Makayla Allen and her dancers Katie Delaney, Ashlinn DeMonte, Adriana Lee, Bianca Noonan and Kiley White.

FINANCIAL AID NIGHT: District 207 Financial Aid Night is tonight at Maine West from 7- 8:30 in the auditorium with breakout sessions. Representatives from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission will present about Financial Aid. This event is open to all District 207 families.

Last Friday, Maine West DECA competed against over 1,000 students from across Illinois in state competition. A HUGE congratulations to our national qualifiers--Riya Patel, Neo Trovela-Villamiel, Yanni Tsoukatos and Daniela Vega who will be competing at Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia in April. In addition the following Maine West DECA members won medals for placing in the Top 10 in their events: Sabrina Bukvarevic, Sofia Cupuro, Vrisha Kotak, Ian Puszcynski, Guadalupe Ruiz, Cristian Sanchez Godinez and Mohnish Soni and Mia Thomas. Way to go Maine West DECA, and best of luck to our 4 competitors advancing to nationals!

SCHOLASTIC BOWL:  The 16th Annual Faculty vs. Students Scholastic Bowl competition will be held on Tuesday, March 15th from 3:15-4:30 pm in the Upper Commons area.  If you would like to participate, please contact Todd Ruder.  Scholastic Bowl is a trivia competition like Jeopardy, Trivial Pursuit or Trivia Crack. 

MAINE WEST SCHOLARSHIP FUND:  The Maine West Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that the Maine West Scholarship Fund is officially open for applications for the class of 2022. This application is only open to Maine West seniors and is a chance to win multiple scholarships. The deadline for submissions is March 28, 2022. The application can be accessed using this link.

SPRING PLAY:  Announcing the spring play....LOST GIRL by Kimberly Belflower. This play is a highly acclaimed modern coming-of-age story that is a spin off of Peter Pan. You will want to be a part of this production. We are seeking a diverse cast of people to fill the roles in this play. Everyone has an amazing part to play in this story. We welcome all levels of actors.  No previous experience is necessary.  Auditions will be held today and tomorrow in the choir room.  Please see Mr. Harmon or Mrs. Klinger with any questions.

The LRC will announce their Blind Date with a book raffle winners soon!  Readers of those books have until 3:30 pm today to turn in your ballot.  Even if you have NOT finished your "blind date" book, please fill out the ballot to comment on how you have liked it so far.  Remember, you have until 3:30 pm TODAY to turn in all ballots.
