STUDENT VOICE: Want to make your voice heard and have fun doing it? Come join Student Voice Council, one of the biggest and most exciting clubs at Maine West. We will meet Wednesday at 7:40 in room D105. We will plan awesome events, share ideas, and build the kind of school spirit that makes Maine West shine. Don’t miss it, your voice matters.
DRAMA CLUB: The first drama club meeting of the year will be Wednesday in the Drama Rm. (A206) from 3:15 - 4:00. All are welcome. There will be candy, games and much much more. We will discuss this year's season and our upcoming trip to the Illinois High School Theatre Festival.
ART CLUB: We will have our first Art Club open studio on Thursday after school until 4:00 in C120P. Everyone and anyone is welcome. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to Mr. Cammarata.
SCIENCE NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: A reminder that people interested in joining Science National Honor Society should come to a brief meeting after school on Thursday in B107.
SPANISH NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY: Are you interested in joining the Spanish National Honor Society this year? If so, please come to our informational meeting after school on Monday, September 8th, in room A207. We will review our membership requirements, annual fundraiser and plan for the year. Please see Mr. Walzer with any questions.
WRESTLING: We will have our pre-season Wrestling meeting on Monday September 8th at 3 pm in room A109. Join the Iron Wrestling Google Classroom to receive updated information on how to become an active participant as a wrestler or manager.
NEWS FROM THE CCRC: Every Tuesday the CCRC will be hosting an application workshop called "Apply" Yourself Tuesdays. You are welcome to stop by during your lunch period to get support with applying to colleges, scholarships, and even jobs. The first workshop will be September 9th in the CCRC room B-101.
COLLEGE FAIR AND POST SECONDARY EXPO: All D207 students and families are invited to attend the College Fair and Postsecondary Expo on September 10 from 6:30-8:30 at Maine East High School. This event will host approximately 150 colleges and 40 trades, apprenticeships, military recruiters, and more. If you have any questions, reach out to Ms. Adams or Ms. Nelson in the CCRC.
PI SIGMA PI: All Pi Sigma Pi members should check their emails for a Google classroom invitation. Make sure to join so you can receive announcements and updates. Check out some upcoming volunteer opportunities and information about our first all-club meeting on September 12th.
PRINCIPAL'S LEADERSHIP TEAM: The Principal's Leadership Team exists to give students a voice in making decisions that affect their quality of life in school. The group meets once per month with Dr. McMahon to organize events and activities and provide feedback on school life. Attendance is required. The group is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Please complete and submit this form by 3 pm on Monday, September 15 if you would like to be considered for the team.
