The Speech Team competed in Varsity and JV tournaments over the weekend and had a great showing. Elisha Joseph placed 5th in Informative Speaking at the Elk Grove Varsity Tournament and at the John Hersey JV Tournament, Elisa Murillo placed 1st in Poetry, Sam Rubio placed 3rd in Original Comedy, and Jimena Ceja placed 5th in Informative Speaking.

IRISH CLUB: Irish club is meeting Wednesday after school in the lower commons. This will be our Irish Club Holiday party. Members are encouraged to bring in different potato dishes to share. There are microwaves in the lower commons we can use to warm up any food.
TOYS FOR TOTS: Balkan Club is collecting toys for Toys For Tots. The collection bin is in front of the Visual Art Wing at the end of C120. Please bring new and unwrapped toys to help families in need who can't afford gifts this season. The drive runs through the 13th.
CHILDREN'S BOOK DRIVE: Maine West’s chapter of National English Honor Society is having a Holiday Children’s Book Drive to support local children. The book drive will start on Monday and run through through Wednesday, December 18th. Please donate gently used books for children ages 3-10. Your English classes will have a box where you can bring your donated books. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Marshall. Thank you in advance for supporting a great cause

Track & Field team on Wednesday at 3:15 in G102.
DIMENSIONS ART SHOW: The Dimensions Art Show is now on display in the lobby. Don’t miss the public reception on Wednesday from 6:30–8:00 p.m. where you can meet the artists, enjoy the work of nearly every West student artist and grab some refreshments.
DIMENSIONS CONCERT: On Thursday, experience the talents of all students in band, choir and orchestra, plus some incredible music production performances. Two shows: 5:30 and 8:00 p.m.
Tickets are $5.00 online, in the bookstore or at the door. Don’t miss this chance to support your friends and classmates.
CURRENT EVENTS CLUB: Pi Sigma Pi will host Current Events club after school on Thursday in C204. Come to discuss the presidential election, stay for the good conversation and snacks.
PI SIGMA PI: Pi Sigma Pi T-shirts are now on sale in the Bookstore for $15. Order this week, sale closes Friday. Don't forget to sign up for the 3rd Annual Pi Sigma Pi vs. Scholastic Bowl Showdown on Tuesday, 12/17. There will be free pizza.
