FALL PLAY: What happens when you combine Cinderella, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty and Peter Pan with a Midsummer Night's Dream? Find out by experiencing this year's hilarious fall play, "Fairycakes" by Douglas Carter Beane. Join us for a hilarious re-imagining of Shakespeare's classic comedy and our favorite fairytales. Mayhem ensues when Sleeping Beauty mistakenly falls for Pinocchio, Prince Eric falls for Geppetto and Cinderella falls in love with herself. Performances run Thursday, October 17 through Saturday, October 19 at 7pm in the Maine West Auditorium. Tickets are $7 for students and $12 for adults. Tickets are available online and at the door.
BOYS BASKETBALL: For student athletes interested in trying out for boys basketball this season, there will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 29 at 3:30 in room G102.
GIRLS BASKETBALL: Girls Basketball will have a preseason meeting on Tuesday, October 22 from 3:00-3:15pm in Room B217. Anyone interested in trying out or being a manager this season should attend. Please contact Coach Kuzmanic with any questions.

CO-ED CHEERLEADING: Coed Cheerleading tryouts are Wednesday, October 30 in the Fieldhouse at 5pm. We are encouraging male athletes to be a part of this state qualifying program as we embark on the journey to return to the State Finals where we are currently ranked #17 in Illinois.
BOYS SWIM AND DIVE: The Boys Swim and Dive team will have a pre season information meeting on Thursday October 24 at 3:10 pm in the pool. Our official start date is Monday, November 25.

NEWS FROM THE CCRC: Are you eager to learn more about different careers and hear from industry professionals? Come to the Career and Leadership Summit presented by Nerdy Girl Success at Maine South High School. This awesome event will be held on Saturday, November 2nd from 9am-12:30pm. NEW FROM THE SCHOOL BASED HEALTH CENTER: The School Based Health Center and Gabriel's Light are collaborating to bring teen Mental Health First Aid Training to Maine West students in October. Gabriel's Light certifies students who can recognize and address peers' mental health concerns by linking them with supportive services through a trusted adult. There are only 30 slots available In order to become certified you must register and attend all three training sessions. Sessions will be held after school, from 3:30pm -5pm on October 21st, 22nd, and 24th. Scan the flyer and register today!
