GIRLS BASKETBALL:  Girls' Basketball will have open gym after school today in spec gym from 3:40-5:00 pm.  Anyone planning on trying out for girls' basketball this winter is welcome.

FALL PLAY PERFORMANCE:  This year's fall play, "THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK" is coming up. Don't miss this gripping, true-life account of a young Jewish girl who goes into hiding, attempting to escape the horrors of Nazi occupation during World War II. Performances run Thursday, October 12, Friday, October 13, and Saturday, October 14th at 7pm in the Maine West Auditorium. Tickets are $7 for students and $12 for adults and can be purchased online and at the door.

WEST'S GOT TALENT:  The judges have spoken, the cast has been chosen and the talent is immense.  The West's Got Talent Show is well underway.  Make your plans to come and see the most anticipated show of the year.  Friday and Saturday October 27th & 28th.  Mark your calendar and tell your friends.  You won't want to miss it.

MU ALPHA THETA:  Are you a sophomore, junior or senior looking to join the Math National Honors Society? Check your eligibility and find out how to register for Mu Alpha Theta by scanning the QR codes on the fliers in your math classroom and on the bulletin boards around the school. Registrations must be completed by October 30th. New members need to register AND pay a $10 fee in the bookstore. Seniors have the opportunity to purchase an honors cord to wear during graduation for $6 in the bookstore. We are not able to accept late registrations or orders. Contact Mr. Smith with questions.

GYMNASTICS:  Interested in learning gymnastics? Have you mastered how to walk across the beam and want to learn more? Come check out the gymnastics team.  Open gymnastics starting Wednesday, October 11 in A-Wing gym after school from 3:30-5pm. No experience required. Remember to get your physical and sign up through athletics to join the team. Season starts November 6.  Have questions, email Mrs.Harrison or see her in H111 during the day.

FINE ARTS MEDIA CAREER DAY:  The Fine Arts Department at Maine West will be hosting a Media Career Day open to ALL students on Saturday, October 21st, from 8:00am until 12:30pm. Students will visit WGN studios in Chicago and hear from a panel of industry professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for any Maine West student to learn about careers in the media industry. See Ms. Fisher in R209 for a permission slip.
