NATIONAL BANNED BOOK WEEK:  It's National Banned book week, a time when we celebrate our right to read. Today we are highlighting the #2 most challenged book in America in 2021, "Lawn Boy," by Jonathan Evison - An aimless young man decides to get his life together, but life has other plans - sick family members, unpaid bills, bad jobs, awkward situations, and thwarted plans, we root for Mike while also wishing we didn’t have to root so hard. Check it out in the LRC today!

COMPUTER SCIENCE CLUB:  The Computer Science Club will have its first informational meeting after school today in room B211. Anyone interested in computer programming is welcome to join us as we plan our activities for the year.

MOVIE CLUB: Movie Club will have its first meeting of the year today after school in B113. We will be watching the smash hit "Thor: Love and Thunder". Not every god has a plan.

VOTER REGISTRATION:  The next election is fast approaching. If you will be 18 by November 8 and are a US citizen, you can help pick our governor, our Senator, your Congressperson and other officials who impact every aspect of our lives. Register to vote.  Volunteers from the League of Women Voters of Park Ridge will help register students to vote in the LRC today from 8:30-3:00.  Students will have the option to register online or by completing a paper form with a League volunteer.

The requirements for each are a little different.

To register online, you will need:  your Illinois Driver’s License or State ID and the last four digits of your social security number.

To have a volunteer help you complete a paper form, you will need: two forms of ID, one that must have your current address, and, if one of the IDs is not an Illinois Driver’s License or an Illinois State ID, the last four digits of your social security number.

If you forget your IDs but still want to register, come down to the LRC anyway.  League members can give you the tools you need to register at home.

If you’re already registered, amplify your vote by getting your friends to register.
