STUDENTS:  Are you looking for a part-time job? Come to the CCRC to sign up for the Des Plaines Park District hiring event today in the CCRC during lunch periods. You will get a job interview on the spot.

STUDENTS:  It is officially tryout season for the Maine West Cheerleading program. We will start our open gyms today in A Wing Gym at 4 pm. Boys are welcomed. If you are interested, please stop by the Athletics office to pick up a sheet with general information about our tryouts this year.

STUDENTS:  Student Council is looking for tour guides for the Eighth Grade Activities night on Wednesday, May 1st. If you are interested, please sign up on the Chromebook set up in the main office. If you have any questions, please ask a StuCo officer, Ms. Archer or Ms. Lloyd.

STUDENTS: April is National Poetry Month.  The LRC is celebrating with a Blackout poetry event that will run all month long. Come to the LRC and pick up one of our black out sheets and create your own blackout poem.  Turn it in at the front desk, and after review, we will post it in our display cabinet! We hope to have no blank space by the end of the month.

JUNIORS:  Junior Prom is April 27. The theme is "A Night In Paris." Tickets are now on sale in the bookstore for $30 ($35 at the door). You must have your ID with you to buy a ticket.  If you are bringing a guest, forms are available in the bookstore.

SENIORS: Are you planning to attend Oakton? Placement tests are required for some students before enrolling. Oakton will be offering placement testing here at Maine West on Thursday, April 25 at 7:30 am in the LRC. To sign up, stop by the CCRC or check your email for the registration. Signing up beforehand is required. See Mr. Dailey with any questions that you have.

SENIORS: Mark your calenders! Oakton Community College's Financial Aid Department will be in the CCRC during lunch periods (3-6) on Thursday, April 25. Stop by to get help with your FAFSA or to complete the FAFSA Verification process required for many by Oakton. No need to sign up, as walk-ins will be accepted.

LATINX CLUB (formerly Hispanic Student Club): Latinx Club (formally Hispanic Student Club) will be selling club shirts. Please contact Mrs. Giricz, club sponsor, if you are interested in a shirt. This year's shirt will have a picture of Frida Kahlo! Shirts will be $9. Please Mrs. Giricz know what size you want (men's size).
