From March 4th through the 6th, nearly 55 colleges and universities will be visiting Maine West to take part in College Panels. For a full schedule, check your email or stop by the CCRC. You must bring a College Visit Slip with you to the panels and must obtain teacher permission to attend if the time conflicts with a class. Stop by the CCRC or email Mr Dailey with any questions.

STUDENTS:  The National Honor Society is holding a toiletry drive for Journeys, a local organization that helps the homeless in our community. Please bring in toiletries such as shampoos, soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash and socks. The donation bin is in the rotunda. Let’s make a difference and help those in need in our community by bringing in toiletries.

PASS/FAIL FORMS:  Pass/Fail forms will be available from Monday, March 11 through Friday April 5 in the Student Services - Room B102. Forms are due Friday, April 5.

AP STUDENTS:  Reminder that the deadline to pay for your AP tests in the bookstore is March 8th. If you misplaced your letter with the AP tests you are scheduled to take, the bookstore has copies. We encourage all of our AP students to take the AP test for the class (es) they are enrolled.

SENIORS:  Please stop by the registrar's office in B102 to verify your name as it will appear on your diploma. It should match the name on your birth certificate. The roster will be available until Friday, March 8.

CONGRATULATIONS:  The Boys Track Team had some outstanding performances Friday, at the 8 Team Niles North Invite. Winning individual events for the Warriors were Junior Michael Bartusiak in the shot put and Senior Damon Street in the high jump.  Any freshmen boy who still wishes to join the track team may do so. We meet every day for practice after school at the indoor track.

CONGRATULATIONS:  Congratulations to Anthony Salemi, senior defenseman, for his selection to the All-State hockey team, who ranked first among all defensemen in the Illinois West League. He will compete in the All-State Game on February 11th at 8:35 pm in Bensenville.

CONGRATULATIONS: Congratulations to Megan Schore on her amazing floor routine at sectionals that placed 5th and automatically qualified her to state. State meet is Friday the 15th at Palatine HS at 2 pm. Good Luck Megan!

CONGRATULATIONS: Once again, Maine West Orchesis is performing at the Illinois State Dance Festival.  Congratulations to Kim Fairhead on her brilliant choreography. This weekend was the Illinois State Dance Festival Audition. Those schools who are talented enough to impress the judges get the honor of performing their student choreography at the State Festival Showcase. This is Kim's second time having her choreography chosen at the state level. Congratulations to the dancers in her piece; Leah Kuhn, Marcell Podsiadly and Monroe Torkelson who executed her dance wonderfully well. Great job dancers. See you at State!

BASEBALL: Attention ALL prospective baseball players. If you are interested in playing baseball this year, there is an informational meeting Wednesday February 6th at 3:20. If you are a freshman or sophomore, please meet in L-101. If you are a junior or senior, please meet in D-114. If you cannot attend, please email Coach Randazzo for more information.

GIRLS BADMINTON:  All girls interested in playing badminton this spring are invited to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, February 6 in A-209. It will run twice that day, from 7:40-7:50 am and again from 3:25-3:35 pm. Girls should attend either of the two meetings to get the information about tryouts for badminton.

BOYS TENNIS:  Any boy interested in playing tennis this spring should plan on attending a brief meeting after school on Thursday. Please meet in B-215 at 3:25 pm on Thursday to discuss the start of the season. If you are unable to attend, please see Mr. Hauenstein in B-215 before Thursday.

STAFF/STUDENTS:  As you know, we are raising money this year for Patrick Lives On - a philanthropy that provides financial assistance to junior high and high school students for extra-curricular activities enabling them to lead positive and productive paths in life. As part of our fundraising efforts, tomorrow we will run a Miracle Minute during your Warrior Weekly video announcements at the beginning of 2nd period. We are asking everyone, staff and students, to contribute one dollar or whatever you can comfortably afford to Patrick Lives On, during our Miracle Minute tomorrow. There will be a donation bin in the bookstore if you do not have a 2nd period class and you would like to contribute. Together we can help raise funding to support our school-wide philanthropy. STUDENTS:  If you would like to volunteer for the Special Ed Basketball Tournament on Saturday, February 16, volunteer sheets are in C107. We need help with team buddies concessions, referees and scorekeepers. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Pettyjohn.

Dancers will learn a hip hop dance to perform in the orchesis dance show.  Come be a part of this awesome event.  See you all on Friday, February 22.

PING PONG:  Ping Pong Intramural's will start today in H106 from 3:20-5:30 pm.  It is open to any student that is interested in having some fun. No experience necessary. Feel free to bring a friend to hit around with. No equipment needed. You can come and go as you please.
