Our first Advisory Meeting (ACA) is today and tomorrow, November 13 and 14. Report to your counselor’s assigned room as soon as the bell rings:
Tuesday, November 13: Periods 3X and 5X
Wednesday, November 14: Periods 4X and 6X
Your counselors room were sent to you in an email and they are posted in your English teachers' classrooms.
ACCOUNTING CLUB: The IRS should be updating their tax materials online very soon, so it is time for Accounting Club members to begin their certification training. Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, November 27 at 7:00 a.m. in D112. Anyone interested in learning how to prepare an individual, basic tax return is welcome to join our group.
POLISH CLUB: Join us tomorrow morning for our next Polish Club meeting in B113 at 7:10 am. We hope to have our shirt design finalized.
STUDENTS: On Wednesday November 14 at 7 pm, District 207 will be hosting a screening of the documentary "The Test and The Art of Thinking" at Maine South High School. The documentary examines the purpose, role, and effectiveness of standardized tests in the admissions process. All District 207 students and families are invited to attend. Contact Mr. Dailey in the CCRC with any questions.
STUDENTS/STAFF: The 19th Annual Turkey Trot is on Thursday at 3:30 pm in spec gym foyer. Sign up in the bookstore or at the race. $5.00 for the trot, door prizes and t-shirt. You can also donate $3 or 5 canned goods and be entered in the trot and qualify for the door prizes. Door prizes include turkeys, pies, t-shirts and more. Hot chocolate and candy will be served during the raffle. All proceeds benefit the Des Plaines Food Pantry. If you have questions, contact Mr. Piha or your PE teacher.
BASKETBALL FANS: The Maine West Boys Basketball Online Team Store is now open. There are new items and designs for men and women. Place your order no later than NOVEMBER 15th. Exceptions cannot be made. The link can be found on the Boys Basketball website or on their Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages. Thank you for your continued support of the Boys Basketball program.
BOYS SWIMMING/DIVING: There will be an informational meeting for athletes who would like to join the boys swimming and diving team on Thursday, November 15th at 3:30 in room G102.
WRESTLING: Wrestling will compete this Friday with a Blue and Gold Scrimmage. Come out and support the wrestlers as they start their season in the Spec Gym at 6 pm this Friday.
