NEWS FROM THE CCRC:  In the CCRC today during all lunch periods, Ms. Nelson is having a Career Exploration Workshop for Freshmen and Sophomores. Students will learn about all the different career exploration resources available to them. Stop by during your lunch period to attend.

SENIOR PORTRAITS:  Please remember to schedule your senior portrait. The final days for Senior Portraits will be November 15, 18, 19, and 20 from 11:00 am-7:00 pm in E107. Appointments are highly recommended. Please reach out to Mr. Comerford or Mr. Swistak if you have any questions.

TURKEY TROT: W.A.P.A. is sponsoring a Turkey Trot tomorrow from 3:30 - 5:00 pm in the Spec Foyer. Running, trotting and walking are welcomed. This event is open to anyone interested. We are asking for a $10 donation or $3 and 5 canned food items to be donated. All proceeds will be donated to The Des Plaines Self Help Closet and Food Pantry.

WEST'S GOT TALENT:  Maine West's annual talent show, "West's Got Talent" opens soon. One of the most anticipated events of the year, "West's Got Talent" features everything from magic tricks to original song writing, Flamenco dancing and more. Tickets are available online and at the door; $7 for students, and $10 for adults. Performances run Thursday and Friday from 7 to 8:30 in the Maine West Auditorium.

WINTER GUARD:  The Maine West Winter Guard is hosting audition clinics next week Monday, November 18th and Tuesday, November 19th from 6:30 - 8:30. Monday will be held in the lower commons and Tuesday will be held in the Spec Gym. It is recommended that you attend both, but only one is needed to join the team. No experience required. Bring a friend and learn new skills.

BOYS SWIM AND DIVE:  The first day of practice for Boys Swim and Dive is Monday November 25th in the pool. No experience is necessary.

ANNUAL SCIENCE DAY:  Do you have a younger sibling or a school-age child that you watch on the weekend and need something to do together that's free and not outside in the cold? If so, please come to the 6th annual Maine West Science Day. It takes place tomorrow from 10-2. Please come and do some creepy-crawly stuff with the Science National Honor Society.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2024

PLAYOFF FOOTBALL: Your Warrior Football Team is back in the playoffs!  Tonight.  Gates open at 5:00 and kickoff is at 6:30.  Buy your tickets on GoFan for $7.  ACTIVITY PASSES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED.  Find the QR Code to purchase tickets or pay cash at the game.  Avoid the lines and use GoFan!  

WEST SIDE: Join West Side by dressing up for Warrior-Ween tomorrow.  Friday's home football game will have a costume and blue and gold theme. Wear an appropriate costume, no masks or come decked out in blue and gold spirit. Varsity kicks off at 6:30. There will be fun prizes and games.

MU ALPHA THETA: Today is the last day to pay to join the Mu Alpha Theta math honor society.  New members need to pay $10 and seniors that want honor cords need to pay $6 in the bookstore.  See Mrs. Stutheit in B209 with any questions.

CCRC: Are you eager to learn more about different careers and hear from industry professionals? Come to the Career and Leadership Summit presented by Nerdy Girl Success at Maine South High School. This awesome event will be held on Saturday from 9-12:30. All female identifying students are welcome. There will be workshops, a career fair, a panel discussion, and goodie bags!
