BADMINTON:   Friday morning at 6:30 there will be an open gym for badminton in the spec gym. Everyone is invited. Any girls interested in playing badminton this spring need to signup on the Maine West Athletic page and be sure to have a current physical in the Athletic Office.

BLACK EXCELLENCE IS EVERYWHERE:  To celebrate Black excellence in our community, District 207's black cultural clubs and career services is hosting the Black Excellence Is Everywhere event here at Maine West on Thursday, February 8. All Black identifying students are welcomed.  To register, visit the CCRC or sign up on SchooLinks.  Permission slips are due Monday, February 5. If you have any questions come see Ms. Nelson, Ms. Adams, or Ms. Hart.

GIRLS WATER POLO:  Girls considering joining the 6 straight CSL North Conference Champions Water Polo team should come to D113 on Friday February 9 for an organizational meeting. All levels of experience are welcome. Season begins February 26.

CONGRATULATIONS

to all the DECA members who competed in the regional competition in Rosemont on Friday. Thirteen students won a medal for their exam or role plays, but the following students deserve a high five for being the overall winners in their events:

1st place: Max Siuchta and the team of Daniella D'Acquisto and Yasmine Saini

2nd place: Yuliya Kolinkovska and Krisha Patel

3rd place: Medina Dizdarevic

The Speech Team will participate in their final tournament of the season tomorrow, "The Tournament of Heroes" at Glenbrook North. After this tournament, the team goes on to compete in the IHSA State Series in February. Good luck team on your final tournament and congratulations on going to state!
