HOMECOMING DANCE:  Tickets for Homecoming Dance are on sale online and in the bookstore for $30.  You will need your ID to purchase a ticket.  The bookstore is not able to scan IDs from phones.

GIRLS BASKETBALL:  Girls' Basketball will have open gym after school today and Thursday in spec gym starting at 3:40. Anyone planning on trying out for girls' basketball this winter is welcome.

CURRENT EVENTS CLUB:  Pi Sigma Pi will host the first Current Events Club meeting after school on Thursday in C220.  We will discuss the Donald Trump and Hunter Biden indictments. Background readings are posted on Google Classroom.

DECA:  Attention all students interested in joining DECA. The deadline to officially join DECA is Friday. Please be sure to follow the instructions posted in our Google Classroom.  

MU ALPHA THETA:  Are you a sophomore, junior or senior looking to join the Math National Honors Society? Check your eligibility and find out how to register for Mu Alpha Theta by scanning the QR codes on the fliers in your math classroom and on the bulletin boards around the school. Registrations must be completed by October 30th. New members need to register AND pay a $10 fee in the bookstore. Seniors have the opportunity to purchase an honors cord to wear during graduation for $6 in the bookstore. We are not able to accept late registrations or orders. Contact Mr. Smith with questions.

IMPROV TEAM:  Are you good at thinking on your feet? If so, check out auditions for the Maine West Improv team immediately after the Drama Club meeting at 4:00 on Wednesday, October 4. Improv Team practices are only once a week in the morning to avoid conflicts with activities and other sports. We will teach you everything you need to know!

FINE ARTS MEDIA CAREER DAY:  The Fine Arts Department at Maine West will be hosting a Media Career Day open to ALL students on Saturday, October 21st, from 8:00am until 12:30pm. Students will visit WGN studios in Chicago and hear from a panel of industry professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for any Maine West student to learn about careers in the media industry. See Ms. Fisher in R209 for a permission slip.
