CONGRATULATIONS:  At the McClean County Mock Trial Tournament in Bloomington, Illinois, Out of 105 witnesses, Maine West's own Carl Hernandez Hernandez finished in first place to receive the "Outstanding Witness" trophy. Congratulations Carlos! We are very proud of your efforts to bring this achievement to West.

STUDENTS: Clinical government summer school applications are due today. Please submit them to your US history teacher or drop off in C202.

MUSICAL - YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN:  Don't miss this year's MONSTROUSLY HILARIOUS musical comedy, YOUNG FRANKESTEIN. Performances run through the Sunday. Tickets are available in the bookstore, online and at the door.

PI SIGMA PI:  Pi Sigma Pi invites its members to the Second Annual PSP vs. Scholastic Bowl Showdown on Thursday, February 23rd, at 3:15 in A108. Earn bragging rights, have fun, and eat free pizza! Sign up on Google Classroom ASAP as spots are on a first come, first served.

WESTERNER: For more than 60 years, the Westerner student newspaper has been the voice of students at Maine West. And now, you can be a part of it. If you'd like to help shape the way students see the world and be a part of next year's Westerner digital or print staff, applications are due this FRIDAY, February 17 for writers, photographers, artists and editors. Covering everything from student trends, to Maine West life, to Chicago sports, to national and global issues, the award-winning Westerner keeps students informed about their world. Questions? CHRISTIAN VOLKMANN BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT:  The Christian Volkmann Basketball tournament is Saturday, February 25th from 10am- 3pm. We need student volunteers to help with registration, concessions, scorekeeper/ referring and being peer buddies to our teams. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Pettyjohn in C107 or C109. Volunteer forms will be in both rooms to sign up!

SENIORS:  Attention Seniors, we would like to feature your signature in this year's yearbook. Please stop by the main office if you did not get a chance to sign a notecard.

BILINGUAL BOOK CLUB:  Mark your calendars! Students and staff are invited to participate in a bilingual (Spanish/English) book club on March 16th. We'll provide books and delicious food. Scan the QR code on the posters or TVs around school to receive your free copy. Happy reading!

WRESTLING:  We are excited to host our first youth wrestling seminar of the year.  Attached is a flier for the event on February 18th, 2023, at Maine West High School, in the Wrestling Room, beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Also attached is our Waiver for our Participants.
