SCIENCE OLYMPIAD:  Science Olympiad will meet today in Room B109 at 3:30 pm.

SOAR:  SOAR students will participate in learning and discussion today after school from 3:00 - 3:30 in C218. This is an informal opportunity for students to spend some time building community and learning about each other.

KEY CLUB: Join Key Club after school today in E110 to decorate notes for Plainfield elementary school students. Please join us to brighten our Plainfield Friends' day.

FASHION & COSMETOLOGY CLUB:  Join Fashion & Cosmetology Club Thursday at 3:15 in C108. We will be learning special effects makeup techniques just in time for Halloween. Please bring your own makeup & brushes.

PI SIGMA PI: Pi Sigma Pi will meet on Friday at 7:45 a.m. in C-wing gym. Members, come hear about volunteer and civic engagement opportunities, as well as an upcoming movie night.

ACCOUNTING CLUB: Accounting Club will meet before school Wednesday, October 27th from 7:45-8:15 in D100. We are going to begin learning how to prepare a federal income tax return, so don't miss the opportunity to learn this important life skill. Any Maine West student who is interested in learning about doing their taxes is welcome to attend!

STUDENTS: Is your math class not adding up? Is your English class lost in translation? Has your science class turned into a bad experiment? Don't worry. Help is here. COACH tutors are available before school every day in the LRC. Just stop in and look for the COACH signs. Also, freshmen and sophomores, most study halls have a COACH tutor to help as well. Be sure to ask your study hall supervisor if you would like to meet with a COACH tutor.

STUDENTS:  Pass/Fail petitions are available. Please follow this link to the Google Form and submit one form per class you wish to take Pass/No-Grade (NG). Forms are due Friday, October 29th. Only the classes that are not required for graduation and that are not accelerated or AP can be taken Pass/Fail. Read the Instructions in the form before completing it.

STUDENTS AND STAFF:  Help celebrate Socktober!  The Self-Help Closet and Food Pantry of Des Plaines needs new socks, especially men's white athletic socks. Please look for our red barrels located in the main office and front entry to donate.


NEWS FROM THE CCRC:

District 207 is hosting multiple Financial Aid Nights for students and parents to attend. No Registration is necessary. Please attend the workshop(s) that best fit with your schedule regardless of the student's home school.
