Next week is Red Ribbon Week. Red ribbon week brings awareness to living a healthy lifestyle and making alternative choices to using drugs and/or alcohol.  Our annual red ribbon walk/run will take place all day Tuesday, October 22 during PE periods. Please wear red to show your support and dress warm for the weather!

JUNIORS AND SENIORS: Chicago State, Illinois College, Loyola University Chicago, and FIDM will all be in the CCRC visiting today. Please pick up your blue pass from the CCRC in advance.

STUDENTS:   The National Honor Society is partnering with Develop Africa in collecting school supplies in order to further education in Africa. Some supplies that are needed are: paper, pencils, pens, dictionaries, workbooks, calculators, art supplies, old backpacks and more. To donate, please place your items in bins that are located in the library and in front of the student cafe.

STUDENTS:  Pass/Fail petitions are now available in the Student Services Office, B102. They need to be completed and signed by you and your parents. Once you have all signatures, please give the P/F form to your counselor. P/F Petition Forms are due Friday, October 25th. No extension will be given.   You can take Pass/Fail elective courses and courses that are not graduation requirements or accelerated/AP.

GYMNASTICS:  Interested in gymnastics? Come to open gym today in A-wing gym from 4:00-5:30 pm. More dates to be announced or check our website for details. Any questions, please contact coach Harrison.

POMS:  Come tryout for the JV and Varsity Poms Teams for the winter season! Clinics are Wednesday and Thursday October 23rd & 24th @ 3:30 in the dance room. Tryouts are Tuesday, October 29th @ 3:30pm. All levels of experience welcome. Look for a flyer around school for more information.

MOVIE CLUB:  Movie club will be showing its annual Halloween movie after school today in the little theater. It is the sequel to a movie so scary, so thrilling, that we cannot even say its name.

ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB:  Please join the environmental club after school on Monday, October 21 in A104 and wear/bring clothes that can get dirty and will keep you warm!  We'll be heading over to Homestead for more planting at the butterfly garden.

GIRLS BASKETBALL:  Any girl interested in playing girls basketball this season - tryout dates have changed to Monday, November 4th and Tuesday, November 5th right after school. Freshmen will be in C-wing and upperclassmen will be in Spec. Please attend open gym on Oct. 22 and Oct. 24.
