ESPORTS CLUB: Hey Warrior gamers! If you are interested in being part of the Warrior Esports team, come to B107 after school on Thursday, September 5 for an introductory meeting. There will be a raffle for fabulous prizes.
PI SIGMA PI: Pi Sigma Pi will meet Tuesday, September 10th at 7:45 am in C201 to share information for the new year. If you can't make it, see Mr. McClure or Ms. Hendrickson for more information.
BOYS BASKETBALL: For all boys interested in playing basketball this year, there will be a brief informational meeting at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, September 4th in B Wing Gym. Open gym will follow the meeting. Come prepared to play!
SENIOR GIRLS: Any senior girl interested in playing Powder puff, there will be a meeting on Tuesday, September 3 at 3:20 pm in D105.
JUNIORS: The National PSAT/NMSQT test taking place Saturday, October 19th at 8:00 am is at Maine East High School (Maine West is not a site). The PSAT/NMSQT is a National Merit qualifier and should not be taken as a practice test for the SAT in the spring. However, it should be taken by any junior who wants to be considered for this recognition. The deadline to register is Friday, September 13th. The cost of the test is $17 paid at the Maine West Bookstore. More information about arrival time, what to bring to the test, etc. will be sent to those students who register by September 13th.
STUDENTS: Mrs. Giricz and Mr. Roy are excited to take our Hispanic/Latinx Juniors and Seniors to Oakton for their LATINX TEEN - College Success Program on Thursday, September 17th at 8 am. We will return to school around 2:00 pm. This conference will have more information about Oakton, their scholarships, and you will learn the benefits of attending a community college. The field trip permission form needs to be completed and signed by September 4th. Eligible students should have received an email with the permission slip and copies are available in the Student Services Office There is no cost for this field trip. The opportunity to attend this field trip is for the first 40 students who bring in their completed field trip permission form to the counselor's office.
