STUDENTS: Latinx Club (formally Hispanic Student Club) will be selling Aguas Frescas (Mexican fruit drinks with sugar and water) after school Thursday, May 2 outside the cafeteria in honor of Cinco de Mayo. These traditional fruit drinks will be $1 each.
STUDENTS: Student Council is looking for tour guides for the Eighth Grade Activities night on Wednesday, May 1st. If you are interested, please sign up on the Chromebook set up in the main office. If you have any questions, please ask a StuCo officer, Ms. Archer or Ms. Lloyd.
STUDENTS: April is National Poetry Month. The LRC is celebrating with a Blackout poetry event that will run all month long. Come to the LRC and pick up one of our black out sheets and create your own blackout poem. Turn it in at the front desk, and after review, we will post it in our display cabinet! We hope to have no blank space by the end of the month.
JUNIORS: Junior Prom is April 27. The theme is "A Night In Paris." Tickets are now on sale in the bookstore for $30 ($35 at the door). You must have your ID with you to buy a ticket. If you are bringing a guest, forms are available in the bookstore.
SENIORS: Are you interested in transferring to DePaul after Oakton? On May 9 during 4th period, a transfer counselor from DePaul University will be visiting Maine West to discuss the transfer admissions process. Stop by the CCRC to get a College Visit Permission pass if you'd like to attend. The session will take place in L-101, the Little Theater.
MOVIE CLUB: Movie Club will be showing The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, today after school in L101, the little theatre.
POMS/WARRIORETTES: Tryouts for the 2019-2020 non-competitive dance team is coming up. Dance clinics are Monday, May 6 from 3:30-5:30 pm and auditions are Tuesday, May 7 at 3:30 pm in the dance room. Questions? Just want to see what it's all about? Come to the dance clinic on Monday May 6.
