CONGRATULATIONS: Saturday, 3 Maine West students took part in the IHSA Bowling Regional competition. All three, Riley Griffin, Vincent Parcelli and David Roscoe represented themselves and Maine West extremely well. David Roscoe took second place in the regional, averaging 212 for the six games and qualified to bowl again this Saturday in the Sectional competition. Congratulations to all three and good luck David.
STUDENTS: MCYAF is going to start preparation for the 2019 Town Hall Meeting on Sunday, Jan. 20th at 1pm at Maine South in the Principals Conference Room. This year's topic will be marijuana because of the possible legalization of recreational marijuana in Illinois. We welcome all levels (8th -12th grade) of students to participate in this project and students can earn a minimum of 20 service hours. Any interested student should attend the first meeting on Jan 20th or contact Dr. Teri Collins at 847-858-7090.
BOARD GAME CLUB: Board Game Club will meet Wednesday after school in room B109. All are welcome to come and play.
STUDENTS: From January 14 through March 22, the fitness center will be open to all students on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:00-7:30 am and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5:00 pm on regular school days. Due to the start of the track season, after school on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the fitness center will only be open to athletes who are accompanied by a coach.
STUDENTS: Today is the last day to sign up for the blood drive. Stop by the table outside of the cafeteria near the vending machines. Our goal is to get 100 students and staff to sign up to donate blood. The drive is tomorrow in C wing gym.
MUSIC APPRECIATION SOCIETY: The Maine West Music Appreciation Society will be meeting in the LRC Tuesday at 3:30. Please bring in your favorite music to play for your fellow Warriors and discuss. We will be playing new and old hits and getting a little loud in the LRC.
BOYS AND GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: The Track & Field season begins today at 3:30 for both boys and girls. We'll meet in the indoor track immediately after school. Any athlete interested must complete the 8 to 18 registration via the Maine West Athletic web page AND have an up-to-date physical on file. Physical forms should be brought to the Athletic office.
