STUDENTS:  This year's V-Show, "Breaking the News" opens Thursday in the MW Auditorium. Come check out our AMAZING talent; we've got magic tricks, acrobatics, dancing and more. Performances run Thursday, November 3 at 4 pm and Friday and Saturday at 7 pm. Tickets are $7 or $5 with a can food donation.

STUDENTS:  Please bring your cans for the Des Plaines Food Pantry. The 1st period class with the most points wins a gourmet breakfast.

STUDENTS:  The annual Turkey Trot is Thursday, November 10 at 3:30 pm.  Sign up for the race in the bookstore.  The cost is $10 for the trot, door prizes and t-shirt.  You can donate $3 or 5 canned goods for the trot and door prizes.  If you have questions, see Mr. Piha or your PE Teacher.

  RED RIBBON WEEK IS HERE. Let's finish the week strong Warriors! Last day of Red Ribbon week is tomorrow and we are showing our support by doing what we do best, being awesome and amazing warriors. Show your school spirit with your blue and gold. Thanks for an incredible week.

He has two children, his son Ethan, who is a freshman in college, and his daughter Alex, who is a junior in high school.   RED RIBBON WEEK IS HERE. Thursday is the 19th Annual Red Ribbon Run/Walk and the dress up day is the color red. Where your red to show your support and have fun participating in the run/walk. Red bandannas for sale in the bookstore to add to your spirit.

The PopShop is the official school store operated by students in the Entrepreneurship class. We sell popcorn and giant freeze pops every Tuesday and Thursday. Money earned is donated to the school wide fundraiser.  Help support the school wide fundraiser by purchasing your popcorn and/or freeze pops.

Anyone who is excited to learn, share, teach and create can join the 3-D Innovations Club. No experience in technology is necessary - just an insatiable curiosity and the willingness to make a difference.  Our meeting is Thursday, October 27th after school in D106 from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm.

3D INNOVATIONS CLUB: Inviting all philomaths - future engineers, scientists, mechanics, designers, manufacturers and problem solvers who would like to explore 3-D technology. CONGRATULATIONS:  The varsity soccer team's unbeaten streak hits 7 with a 4 to 1 victory over Glenbrook South Tuesday night in the Regional Semi-Finals. Emerson Herrera and Geronimo Xolio found the net once each and Brant Ibarra notched in 2 goals. The defense played strong and kept the Titans from inching back into the game. Please come out and support the Warriors as they face Glenbrook North on Saturday at 3 pm for the Regional Finals.

CONGRATULATIONS:  The Maine West Boys Freshmen Cross Country Team stepped up on Saturday and finished 1st in their Conference Meet at Glenbrook North. Ray Ure was the individual winner in the race.  Other scoring runners for the team were Jonathan Kang, Fabian Pena, Michael Lindenmuth, Johnny Picchiotti and Ian Huff.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Registration for boys' basketball is now open. You can access the online registration by visiting the boys' basketball website or by visiting the Maine West Athletics website. All registration forms are due by Monday, October 31st. If you have not completed the registration process, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO TRYOUT. The Boys Varsity soccer team is on a 5 game unbeaten streak. On Tuesday night, they beat Von Steuben HS by the score of 3 to nothing. Goal scorers were Dennis Gaitan, Charlie Madrigal and Emerson Herrera. Jason Ybarra notched another 2 assists, putting him at 8 for the season. Dean Hernandez and the defense earned their 5th shutout of the season. The Warriors play their last regular season game tonight at 6pm. It is senior night. Let's honor Brant, Charlie, George and Nico for their dedication to the soccer program.

The contributions you make to the school wide fundraiser directly benefit people in our community, our families, our neighbors, as well as people around the world.”  “Last year we supported Special Olympics Illinois, what should we support this year? We need your help!”  “Be a part of helping make that decision and to make our philanthropy choice this year a huge success.”  “We will have our first informational meeting before school at 7:15 am on Thursday, October 13th in L101. 3D INNOVATIONS:  Inviting all philomaths - future engineers, scientists, mechanics, designers, manufacturers and problem solvers who would like to explore 3-D technology.  Anyone who is excited to learn, share, teach and create can join the 3-D Innovations Club. No experience in technology is necessary - just an insatiable curiosity and the willingness to make a difference.  We are meeting Thursday, October 12 in D106 from 3:30-4:30 pm.

DECA MEMBERS:  We are meeting Friday, October 14 before school from 7:10-7:40 am. We will be finalizing your role play event choices and discussing important information about written events. If anyone still wants to join DECA, please come to our meeting Friday morning. We are happy to welcome new DECA members.

KEY CLUB:  We will meet Thursday at 7:00 am in L101 and at 3:30 pm in C101.

PI SIGMA PI:  We will be taking our yearbook photo at our first post-election meeting on Friday at 7:00 am in C210.  Be prepared to share any ideas you have about field trips or other activities we can do throughout the year.

FASHION AND COSMETOLOGY CLUB:  With Halloween right around the corner, the Fashion and Cosmetology Club will feature demo's and tutorials on special effects make-up at our next meeting. Please join us after school this Thursday in C108. Bring your own make up palettes and brushes and if you happen to have special effects makeup, bring that too.

IT'S A STITCH: If you crochet or would like to learn please come and join It's A Stitch club Thursday in room A114 at 3:30 pm.

MATH TEAM:  The first IML math contest is on Tuesday, October 18th before school in room A201. Anyone interested in math and challenging problems is encouraged to attend. You can start any time between 6:45 AM and 7:10 AM.  You will have 30 minutes to work on the problems once you begin. If you have questions about the IML contest ask your math teacher.
