STUDENTS: May is Mental Health Awareness Month! We are all touched in some way by mental health issues, whether it's a family member, a friend, a teammate or acquaintance. STUDENTS: Pull tab collection coming to a close!! Only three days left to hand in your pull tabs, Class of eighteen still the only class to fill two jugs in the cafeteria. Which class will challenge them?
STUDENTS: Tryouts for the 2017-2018 Warriorettes dance team will be this week on May 9, 10 and 11. Wear comfortable clothes and come check out the dance clinic on the 9th and 10th before the audition on the 11th. No prior dance experience is necessary. We are looking for a both a large varsity and JV squad this year. If you have any questions, please see Coach Marchionna.
STUDENTS: WARRIORS! Come to the LRC Wednesday, May 10 at 8am to hear the Brannan Sisters. They will be performing song from Bruno Mars, Train, Disney favorites and more! This will be your only chance to see the Brannan Sisters perform on campus together. See you there at 8am Wednesday.

We will be having our initiation picnic on Thursday, May 18th from 3:30 to 4:45 in the grassy area outside C-wing gym. The picnic is free for all current members. Members must pick up a ticket from the bookstore by Friday, May 12th in order to attend.

Our year-end celebration and elections for next year's officers will take place this Thursday, May 11, at 7:00 in Room D102. Be sure to check your e-mail for the officer candidate statements. Breakfast will be served, so all DECA members come on by D102 at 7:00 Thursday morning to celebrate another successful year!
STUDENTS: Attention Students enrolled in Internship next fall: If you are enrolled in Internship class next school year, it is very important that you check your school email for important information from Mrs. Mazanowski. You must complete an on-line application and to set-up an interview as soon as possible. Thank you!
STUDENTS: Attention Seniors! Would you like to win free senior prom tickets and more? If so, hurry and enter the Maine West Scholarship Fund Raffle for a chance to win 2 free Senior Prom tickets, a free tuxedo rental and a nail certificate--a $300 value! Raffle tickets can be purchased in the bookstore for $5 each or 3 for $10. A winner will be announced on Tuesday, May 9th.
STUDENTS: If you are a sophomore with a cumulative, weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher, you will be eligible to apply to Maine West's National Honor Society this coming October. Please attend one of the informational meetings next week. Come to L101 Today after school at 3:20 or Tomorrow, May 9 before school at 7:00 am. Please check your email for more details.
STUDENTS: Are you ready for yearbook day? Believe it or not, that day is nearly here. Yearbooks will be available for pickup beginning Tuesday, May 9 after school. Pickup will be in the cafeteria starting at 3:15 Tuesday until 4:30. If you can't make it Tuesday, we'll be passing them out during late arrival starting at 7:15 am on Wednesday until 8:30 am. A limited number may be available to buy in case you haven't ordered yours yet. First come, first serve on those.

You can play too on Monday afternoon in Spec gym at the annual Warrior Challenge Badminton Fundraiser. For $3 you can play a game of singles or doubles against one of the team members. If you win your game, you win $1 back. Come out, get some exercise, and see if you can beat a badminton player. Danny Daood is talking his game up and says he will be there.......will you?
COLLEGE AND CAREER ANNOUNCEMENTS
The US Army will be in the CRC today from 4th period until 6th period.
Seniors, if you are still trying to make a plan for after graduation, be sure to see your counselor or Ms. Abraham! There are a variety of resources available. Also, if you are changing your plans for college, there are still schools accepting applications. Stop in the CRC for more information.
Congratulations to the JV boys volleyball team on winning their quad on Saturday. The Warriors were undefeated on the day, beating Grayslake Central, Libertyville and Waukegan. Way to go warriors!
The varsity badminton team competed in Sectionals Thursday night at Buffalo Grove. The Warriors took third place overall, with each player contributing mightily. Jessica Wicher, Viri Godinez, Dianne Mabansag, and Miranda Gonzalez just missed qualifying for the state tournament. Brooke Gorski and Megan Kalinowski took third place overall and DID QUALIFY for a repeat trip to the state finals next weekend in Charleston. Congratulations to all on a great season!
