STUDENTS: Tryouts for the 2017-2018 Warriorettes dance team will be next week on May 9, 10 and 11. Wear comfortable clothes and come check out the dance clinic on the 9th and 10th before the audition on the 11th. No prior dance experience is necessary. We are looking for a both a large varsity and JV squad this year. If you have any questions, please see Coach Marchionna.
STUDENTS: Pull tab collection coming to a close!! Only three days left to hand in your pull tabs, Class of eighteen still the only class to fill two jugs in the cafeteria. Which class will challenge them?

STUDENTS: Attention Students enrolled in Internship next fall: If you are enrolled in Internship class next school year, it is very important that you check your school email for important information from Mrs. Mazanowski. You must complete an on-line application and to set-up an interview as soon as possible. Thank you!
STUDENTS: Attention Seniors! Would you like to win free senior prom tickets and more? If so, hurry and enter the Maine West Scholarship Fund Raffle for a chance to win 2 free Senior Prom tickets, a free tuxedo rental and a nail certificate--a $300 value! Raffle tickets can be purchased in the bookstore for $5 each or 3 for $10. A winner will be announced on Tuesday, May 9th.
STUDENTS: The Dance I & Dance II showcase performance is happening TODAY here in our Maine West Auditorium. There will be two performances, one at 4pm and one at 6pm. The show is 1/2 an hour and it is FREEEEE. Come out and support our Maine West Dance Classes!
STUDENTS: The award winning Orchesis Dance Company will be performing at Great America this Sunday. Come out and cheer for your very own Orchesis dancers who will take the Wilderness Stage just after 12:00 noon.
STUDENTS: If you are a sophomore with a cumulative, weighted GPA of 3.5 or higher, you will be eligible to apply to Maine West's National Honor Society this coming October. Please attend one of the informational meetings next week. Come to L101 on Monday, May 8 after school at 3:20 or Tuesday, May 9 before school at 7:00 am. Please check your email for more details.
STUDENTS: Are you ready for yearbook day? Believe it or not, that day is nearly here. Yearbooks will be available for pickup beginning Tuesday, May 9 after school. Pickup will be in the cafeteria starting at 3:15 Tuesday until 4:30. If you can't make it Tuesday, we'll be passing them out during late arrival starting at 7:15 am on Wednesday until 8:30 am. A limited number may be available to buy in case you haven't ordered yours yet. First come, first serve on those.
STUDENTS: Were you the King or Queen of The Hill in your PE class in Badminton? Did you master all the skills that Mr. McNeil or Ms. McCluskey taught you? Do you have the urge to get out there and compete against the absolute best? Well, here's your chance. Monday afternoon, from 3:30-5:30 pm in Spec gym you have the opportunity to show that you still have it. For the low cost of $3 per game you can play against one of the fantastic badminton girls on the Freshman, JV or Varsity teams to see how your mad skills stack up. Better yet, if you should happen to win the game, you get a dollar back. You can play singles or doubles games. Grab some friends and make a plan to head on down to Spec gym Monday after school to challenge the badminton team players..... Let's see how good you really are!
COLLEGE AND CAREER ANNOUNCEMENTS
The following visitors will be in the CRC today:
4th - 7th - Oakton Community College will be in the CRC. Students who plan to attend Oakton should come in to get the additional forms needed for financial aid. You may also complete your application if you have not done so yet!
5th - Illinois National Guard
2nd - 9A - FAFSA Specialist - Come in to clarify financial aid questions and/or complete your FAFSA. Juniors can come in to ask about how financial aid works and create scholarship searches.
If you would like to meet with a representative and have class when they are scheduled, come get a College Visitor Pass from the CRC. Ask you teacher for permission to miss class, and have him/her sign the pass.
