STUDENTS:  Do you have a special someone? Want to embarrass a friend? Buy your "Valentune" or singing telegram from the Maine West Tri-M Music Honor Society this week in the cafe for only $2.  Don't miss out on this awesome opportunity.

STUDENTS:  The choraliers will perform Wednesday at 8:00 am in the LRC as part of the LRC performance series.  Singing songs, new and old, the choraliers are the most happening acappela group Maine West has ever seen.  Please come ease into your Wednesday with some smooth silky tones.

JUNIORS:  SAT Success prep courses start today. The rosters are posted in the Student Services Department with room assignments.

STUDENT COUNCIL:  If you are interested in running for Student Council, you must attend our next Student Council meeting.  We are meeting Tuesday at 7:10 am in L101.  We will be handing out the necessary paperwork.  We will also be planning our StuCo outing.

COLLEGE AND CAREER ANNOUNCEMENTS

SENIORS: Applications for our very own Maine West Scholarship Fund and Oakton Scholarships are now available in the CRC and on the Student Services website. If you plan on attending any post-secondary school in the fall after graduation, we encourage you to apply. All applications are due back by March 16th. If you have questions, email Mrs. Rey or Mr. Ebrahimi.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS

Congrats to all the wrestlers who competed in the regional tournament Saturday and to our 3 sectional qualifiers, Arsalan Afshar, Jayton Hall and Jake Bellizzi.  These warriors will compete Friday at the sectional in search for a trip down state.

Saturday, senior Mary Conneely represented Maine West in the IHSA regional bowling competition.  Mary bowled very well and will try to duplicate her success Saturday in the sectional competition at Arlington Lanes.  Congratulations Mary and good luck on Saturday.

If you would like to volunteer for the Special Ed Basketball Tournament on February 18th, volunteer sheets are in C102. We need help with team buddies, concessions, referees and scorekeepers. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Pettyjohn.
