Let's kick off February with a flannel Friday.  Wear your favorite flannel on Friday.

STUDENTS: If you missed out on the Flamin Cheetos Popcorn Seasoning, it will be back Thursday. Come give it a try before it sells out. It is a HOT item so get it now. 1 Box for $2.00 or 2 Box for $3.00.  Or get your usual popcorn and seasoning with a Giant Freezepop for $1.00 each.

STUDENTS:  The winter formal is Saturday, February 4.  Tickets are $20 and $25 at the door.  You must present a different ID for each ticket purchased.

JUNIORS:  If you registered for the SAT prep courses at Maine West, the SAT Success prep courses will begin Monday February 13th. The rosters are now posted in the Student Services Department with room assignments.

SENIORS:  If you ordered a senior t-shirt, they have arrived and are ready for pick up in the bookstore.

ANIME CLUB:  Anime Club will meet Thursday in room D105 after school.  See Mr. Kermend with any questions.


JUNIORS:  Tonight is College Planning Night at 7 pm in the Maine West auditorium. This event is for all juniors and their parents. Get tips and insights into the college planning process. The time to start is now.

1. You need to relieve your anxiety about college planning and know this evening is a perfect
     opportunity to get the process started.

SENIORS: Applications for our very own Maine West Scholarship Fund and Oakton Scholarships are now available in the CRC and on the Student Services website. If you plan on attending any post-secondary school in the fall after graduation, we encourage you to apply. All applications are due back by March 16th. If you have questions, email Mrs. Rey or Mr. Ebrahimi.

SENIORS:  Thursday is Financial Aid Day in the CRC. Come meet with the FAFSA expert.


If you would like to volunteer for the Special Ed Basketball Tournament on February 18th, volunteer sheets are in C102. We need help with team buddies, concessions, referees and scorekeepers. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Pettyjohn.

Any boy interested in playing on the tennis team this spring should attend an informational meeting today after school in B113. We will relay information pertinent to the start of the season.  It is critical that all players attend.  Please see Coach Swistak in B113 before Wednesday if you have a conflict.
