Become part of the challenge and help us make a difference. Our goal is one million pull tabs for Ronald McDonald House charities. Our goal for the district is two million pull tabs, no one has ever reached that goal. There are collection containers around the school, remember to Drink. Pull. Drop. and together we will reach two million.


STUDENTS:  If you are interested in helping out with the school-wide fundraiser in any way, come to L101 after school on Tuesday. Anyone who would like to help raise funds and organize events to help St. Baldrick's cure childhood cancer, stop by.

STUDENTS:  The winter formal is Saturday, February 4.  Tickets now cost $20 and will cost $25 at the door.  You must present a different ID for each ticket purchased.

SOPHOMORE STUDENTS:  If you are interested in applying for the Junior Leader program, the active link to apply is on the Maine West Physical Education webpage. All applications must be submitted by Tuesday, January 31.

JUNIORS:  If you registered for the SAT prep courses at Maine West, the SAT Success prep courses will begin Monday February 13th. The rosters are now posted in the Student Services Department with room assignments.

HISPANIC STUDENT CLUB: Hispanic Student Club is selling candy to generate money for our scholarship fund. We are selling spicy lollipops, chocolate covered marshmallow, mini-strawberry and vanilla custard or mini-chocolate and vanilla custard. Candy imported from Mexico and taste so good. Get them while they last.

PING PONG:  Ping Pong today after school in H106 from 3:30-5:30 pm.  No experience necessary.  All equipment provided.  All skill levels welcome.

COLLEGE AND CAREER ANNOUNCEMENTS

SENIORS:  Applications for our very own Maine West Scholarship Fund and Oakton Scholarships are now available in the CRC and on the Student Services website. If you plan on attending any post-secondary school in the fall after graduation, we encourage you to apply. All applications are due back by March 16th. If you have questions, email Mrs. Rey or Mr. Ebrahimi.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS

If you would like to volunteer for the Special Ed Basketball Tournament on February 18th, volunteer sheets are in C102. We need help with team buddies, concessions, referees and scorekeepers. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Pettyjohn.

Boys interested in playing baseball this spring, there will be an informational meeting Tuesday after school in B211. Have any questions, or cannot attend, look for coach Aguirre for more information.

Any boy interested in playing on the tennis team this spring should attend an informational meeting on Wednesday after school in B113. We will relay information pertinent to the start of the season.  It is critical that all players attend.  Please see Coach Swistak in B113 before Wednesday if you have a conflict.
