STUDENTS:  The deadline to submit your Pass/Fail application has been extended to this Friday, November 4th at 3:30 pm. Please turn in all applications to your counselor by the deadline. Please know no other extension will be given.

STUDENTS:  This year's V-Show, "Breaking the News" opens Thursday in the MW Auditorium. Come check out our AMAZING talent; we've got magic tricks, acrobatics, dancing and more. Performances run Thursday, November 3 at 4 pm and Friday and Saturday at 7 pm. Tickets are $7 or $5 with a can food donation.

STUDENTS:  An informational meeting for this year’s musical, “Little Shop of Horrors” will be held next Monday, November 6 from 3:30 to 4 pm in the Choir Room. This hit broadway classic is equal parts sci-fi horror flick and musical comedy all wrapped into one. Don’t miss out on this hillarious production.

STUDENTS:  Please bring your cans for the Des Plaines Food Pantry. The 1st period class with the most points wins a gourmet breakfast.

STUDENTS:  The annual Turkey Trot is Thursday, November 10 at 3:30 pm.  Sign up for the race in the bookstore.  The cost is $10 for the trot, door prizes and t-shirt.  You can donate $3 or 5 canned goods for the trot and door prizes.  If you have questions, see Mr. Piha or your PE Teacher.

SENIORS:  Herff Jones will be here to take orders for graduation announcements and senior products including class rings today during lunch periods outside the cafeteria. If you have not completed the cap and gown measurement, you can complete the measurement form today. NO PAYMENT IS REQUIRED, you already paid for a cap and gown. JAZZ BAND:  Auditions for the Maine West Jazz Band are on Tuesday, November 8th.  Come to the band room to pick up an audition packet and sign up for a time.  Looking for saxes, trumpets, trombones, guitar, base, piano and drums. Head to for more information.

HISPANIC CLUB:  We are celebrating the Day of the Dead in H106 after school today. Everyone is welcome.

KEY CLUB:  Key club is meeting Friday, November 4 at 7:00 am in room C101 and again at 3:30 in room L101.

IT'S A STITCH:  It's a stitch is meeting Thursday in room A114 after school.

BADMINTON:  Badminton open gym begin this Friday, November 4th in Spec gym at 6:00 am. Wear appropriate clothing and gym shoes. We supply the rackets. Grab a friend and come play anytime between 6 and 7:20 in the morning. Check out the badminton website for a list of all open gym dates.

GYMNASTICS:  This is the last week of open gym in A-wing gym. Tryouts are November 7.  Please register on 8 to18 and have an up-to-date physical to be eligible to try-out.  Please contact Coach Harrison if you are still in a fall sport and unable to attend. Gymnastics start November 7 at 4:00 pm in A-wing gym.

WRESTLING:  Wrestling starts on November 7th. There will be a pre-season wrestling meeting on Monday, October 31st right after school in the Little Theatre (L101).
