STUDENTS:  Philanthropy” “...that’s a funny word, what does it mean?”  “Benevolence, generosity, humanitarianism, charity. You know, that’s what our school wide fundraiser is all about.”  “Warriors - we each make a difference. The difference we make is in how we contribute to Maine West and the community and world around us. Each year we hold a school wide fundraiser. The contributions you make to the school wide fundraiser directly benefit people in our community, our families, our neighbors, as well as people around the world.”  “Last year we supported Special Olympics Illinois, what should we support this year? We need your help!”  “Be a part of helping make that decision and to make our philanthropy choice this year a huge success.”  “We will have our first informational meeting before school at 7:15 am on Thursday, October 13th in L101. We encourage anyone who wants to make a difference by being an active participant in the Student Philanthropy Committee to attend the meeting.”  “If you have an organization you’d like us to consider and ideas for events, that includes you!”  If you are interested but cannot attend, please email Mrs. Michaels or Mr. York and they will include you in future meetings and event planning sessions.”
