Happy National Tutoring Week! Celebrate in COACH this week with some free food and free tutoring. COACH is open daily before and after school in the LRC. Quarter 1 is over, but we're only half-way through the semester. Now is the time to go to COACH and get help the help you need in any subject. Be a champion. Go to COACH.

STUDENTS:  Wednesday October 19th is Fall testing day. Freshmen will take the PSAT 8/9 and Sophomores and Juniors will take the PSAT/NMSQT. No school for seniors. Students, please report to your advisories by 8:40 am. If you do not know your advisory, this is the time to look at your ID or schedule and know exactly where you need to go on Wednesday. Remember...
bring your school ID,
two number 2 pencils,
and a scientific or graphing calculator.
NO cell phones or electronic devices allowed.

STUDENTS:  Get your exclusive Maine West Warrior Foam Finger. Student Council is selling a limited number of foam fingers. They are available in the bookstore for only $3. Get yours now before they're gone.

STUDENTS AND STAFF:  Grand Opening for this years POPSHOP is Tuesday the 18th and Thursday the 20th.  Please bring your $1.00 for a Fresh Box of Pop Corn and/or a Giant FREEZE POP. Please help us raise money to donate to the School Wide Fundraiser.   Thank You for all your Support of the PopShop.

STUDENTS: The Maine West LP Appreciation Society will have it's first meeting tomorrow from 3:30-4:30 pm in the LRC. The LP Appreciation Society is for those of you that are passionate about listening to music on long playing record albums.  If you like buying, seeking out, listening to, looking at records, talking about your favorite bands and discovering new music, this club is for you. For more details contact Mr. Greenberg in the LRC.

SENIORS: Please go to the bookstore to order your senior t-shirt. $12 for a short sleeve and $15 for long sleeve.

MATH TEAM:  The first IML math contest is tomorrow before school in room A201.  Anyone interested in math and challenging problems is encouraged to attend. You can start any time between 6:45 AM and 7:10 AM.  You will have 30 minutes to work on the problems once you begin. If you have questions about the IML contest ask your math teacher.

YOGA CLUB:  Yoga Club will meet tomorrow after school at 3:30 pm in room C200A. We will practice yoga in a safe, non-judgemental environment. Learn how to control your emotions and meet new friends. We will stretch our bodies and our minds while we change the things we can. Contact Katie Petersen to let her know if you are interested.

SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS

BOYS BASKETBALL: Registration for boys' basketball is now open. You can access the online registration by visiting the boys' basketball website or by visiting the Maine West Athletics website. All registration forms are due by Monday, October 31st. If you have not completed the registration process, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO TRYOUT. Check out the boys' basketball website for upcoming workouts, open gyms, and everything that is Maine West Boys' Basketball.
