GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

STUDENTS: Please join us tomorrow for our first Student Council meeting of the year. Help us plan assemblies, dress up weeks and school-wide events. Everyone is welcome, and there will be some food!

STUDENTS: Do you want to be an MC for our Maine West V-Show? There will be a brief informational meeting for those interested in hosting our all school variety show. Even if you have no experience, we want you. Help select the theme and be part of something great. We are meeting today immediately after school in R207, the choir room.

STUDENTS:  Are you interested in learning and applying skills related to careers and business. The Maine West business organization, DECA, will have its first meeting on Thursday, August 25th before school from 7:10-7:40 in Room D102. During this informational meeting, we will explain what DECA is and why it matters to you, discuss our calendar of events and answer your questions. There is no obligation to join, just come to learn more.

STUDENTS:  The Olympics have ended, but your chance to be a champion has just begun. If you want to get gold medal grades, go to COACH and be coached by our all-star tutors. COACH is open daily before and after school in the LRC. Like an athlete in the decathlon, COACH tutors are versatile and can help in any subject. Be a champion and go to COACH!

TRIBE:  If you are interested in promoting school spirit, TRIBE is the club for you.  We will have our first meeting Thursday, August 25 at 7:15 am in D100.

WMTH RADIO:  Want to DJ your own radio show?  Now is your chance.  Sign up for WMTH radio, Maine West's very own radio station.  Stop by R209 and pick up an application.

HISPANIC CLUB:  Hispanic Student Club will have its first meeting on Wednesday, August 24 in L101.  It is open to all students. We will be discussing leadership applications, fundraisers and events.

WADA:  Warriors Above Drugs & Alcohol is a club that promotes living a drug free life. If you are interested in joining WADA we will have our first meeting on Monday, August 29 at 7:10 am in D100.
FALL PLAY:  Auditions for the fall play production of "A Wrinkle In Time" are Wednesday, August 24 in room E209.  Stop by the Fine Arts Department for more information.  Be a part of the Maine West theatre.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Any girl not involved in a fall sport, there is a mandatory meeting on Thursday, August 25 in B203 at 3:30 pm. If you are unable to attend due to another obligation, you must stop by B203 and see Coach deMarigny.
