STUDENTS:  For almost 60 years, the Westerner student newspaper has been the voice of students at Maine West. Covering everything from Maine West events to student talents to national and global issues. The award-winning Westerner keeps students informed about their world, whether it is the orchesis show or the spring play, the basketball team or the math team, the presidential election or climate change, the dominance of Netflix or the reality of the gender gap. If you would like to help lead the school and be a part of next year's Westerner staff, applications are due March 14 for writers, photographers, artists and editors. STUDENTS: Any student interested in signing up for summer school driver education can still do so in the main office. Registration closes March 4th.

STUDENTS: Sign up for the "Teaching the Young Child" summer school internship. Gain hands on experience while working on site at an elementary or middle school. You can choose your grade level and subject preference. There is a limited amount of spots, so please don't delay. If you have any questions please email or stop and see Mrs. Archer in D120.

STUDENTS: Do you have what it takes to be a model? Come to our Maine West Model search today after school in the Little Theater (L101) where you will be auditioning to model either a tuxedo or prom dress in the Maine West fashion show.

STUDENTS:  Calling all those who are told they have a 'face for radio.' WMTH is looking for after school DJs. This is your chance to be on the air between 3:15 and 5 pm on Mondays after school. Visit Mr. Shaphren or Maddie Kulbersh in R-209 for more information and an application.

KEY CLUB: Key club will be voting for officers on Friday morning at 7:00 am in room L101.

MOVIE CLUB:  Movie Club is meeting after school on Friday, March 4th in L101. We will be showing Spectre, the latest from the James Bond series. 

SOPHOMORES:  We are having a class council meeting Tuesday, March 8th at 7:00 am in A114.

SENIORS:  Final Payment for Grad Nite is March 15. Please make your final payment and turn in your filed trip form by March 15 in the bookstore.

PI SIGMA PI AND INDO-PAK CLUB: Sigma Pi and Indo-Pak Club will be sponsoring a trip to BAPS Hindu Temple and an Indian restaurant on Saturday, March 19 from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm. The trip is free but participants should bring $15 to $20 for lunch. See Mrs. Hendrickson or McClure for a permission slip or e-mail for a digital copy. Return permission slips to Mrs. Hendrickson or Mr. McClure by Thursday, March 10 to guarantee a spot. After that day spaces will be opened up to World Cultures Students.

STUDENTS: We will have two visitors in the CRC today. The US Marines will be here during 6th and 7th periods. Also, St. Augustine College will be here during 6th period.

Seniors, today is Financial Aid Thursday in the CRC. Come in to ask questions about your FAFSA and paying for college.
