Thursday's Write for Rights event produced 533 letters, a new record, for prisoners of conscience.  Well done and THANK YOU to al who participated. Special thanks to Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Greenberg for providing such a great space in the LRC and To Move Mountains who provided a great acoustic set period 7. NOW LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS. Who will be released this year because of the collective efforts of people who wrote letters around the world.

The results from the Class of 2018 Toy Drive. Seven hundred dollars raised, seventy toys given.  Mr. Harper's 4th period topped the charts for most money raised.  Mr. Rosenberg's 9th period topped the charts for total contributions to Ronald McDonald House.  And the winners are............all who gave and all who will receive.  Maine West is proud of you Class of 2018.

Starting today through December 2nd, we would deeply appreciate it if all juniors would bring in a new toy or a money donation to your U.S. History teacher. The Maine West Boys' Basketball team store is now open. It will only be open for a limited time. All items would look great for Fridays at the office or in the classroom. Prices are affordable and would make great holiday gifts as well.

The store closes and no orders will be accepted after Sunday, November 27.

The team store can be found by clicking the Athletics tab on the Maine West home page and then clicking on Boys Basketball.

STUDENTS:  Have you taken two years of algebra and/or geometry with a 3.0+ GPA? If so, then you are eligible to join Maine West’s National Math Honor Society: Mu Alpha Theta. Mu Alpha Theta hosts free math competitions, offers grants and scholarships and looks great on college applications. It is a small time commitment and there is a $10 member initiation fee that can be paid at the bookstore. Our first meeting will be held on Friday, November 18th at 7:00 am in the Tutor-U room in upper A-wing. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Smith or refer to the flyers around school.

So come on down to Asian club and don’t miss out on all the fun.​  Asian club meets every Wednesday after school in C217.

Thank you to all the students that participated in the LRC's 2nd annual Costume Contest. Everyone had great costumes and we had more participation this year than last year. The winner of the contest at the time of tabulation had a whopping 141 likes.

STUDENTS:   NHS is having a fundraiser today at Culvers in Rosemont from 4 pm to 10 pm. A percent of the profit that is made will be donated to support our NHS service projects and programs.

This hit broadway classic is equal parts sci-fi horror flick and musical comedy all wrapped into one. Don’t miss out on this hillarious production.

  RED RIBBON WEEK IS HERE. Let's finish the week strong Warriors! Last day of Red Ribbon week is tomorrow and we are showing our support by doing what we do best, being awesome and amazing warriors. Show your school spirit with your blue and gold. Thanks for an incredible week.
